Library Departments
Circulation
Establishes and administers all procedures relative to the circulation of
library resources. The unit has a staff of four which includes the supervisor,
one clerical specialist, and two administrative specialists.
Collection Organization (Technical Services)
Establishes and administers the acquisition, organization, and bibliographic
control of all library resources to meet the informational needs of the users.
The unit staff consists of the coordinator, the collection organization
specialist, two library technical assistants, and three administrative
specialists.
Historical
Collection and Archives
Collects, organizes, preserves and makes accessible materials pertinent to SCSU,
its history, and the history of the local community.
Collection Development (Reference)
Assesses and selects a quality collection, provides access to a variety of
resources, provides reference and bibliographic instruction services, and coordinates
with the different schools and departments. The unit has a staff of five
librarians (including the coordinator), the information resource consultant,
three administrative specialists, and a clerical specialist.
Library Management
Responsibilities include the general organization, development, and operational
procedures of the library. The staff consists of the Dean of Library and
Information Services and the administrative specialist.
