(SCDNP) at the University of South Carolina Libraries is one of many state
programs participating in the National Digital Newspaper Program, a national
effort to preserve America's historical newspapers. SCDNP digitizes historic
South Carolina newspapers and facilitates their free access in the full-text
searchable newspaper database,Chronicling
America: Historic American Newspapers, made possible through grants
funded and administered by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)
and the Library of Congress (LC).
